My perfect day starts with a magnificent sunrise, I am lucky to live in Singapore where the sun is present most of the year, I always start my day with a morning walk in the magnificent botanical garden recognized by the UNESCO heritage.
This allows me to meditate in peace, and to talk about important things if I am accompanied by my wife.
After finishing my walk I sit down and drink a large coffee, this allows me to think and know how I am going to organize my day.
For me there are two types of day, the one which is a little more classic where we try to concentrate on our routines, and then there are those which are a little more exciting because we have a dinner planned , a concert or an outing with friends that we look forward to impatiently.
In general, I always end my day with a quiet moment in the evening with a piece of chocolate.
This allows me to reflect on what happened during the day, and to be able to fall asleep on a good note, and to start a new day again.
Here are some tips that I try to integrate in my day:
- Wake up early: Try to wake up at a consistent time each day, allowing for sufficient sleep. This helps regulate your body’s internal clock and promotes better overall health.
- Hydrate: Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up to rehydrate your body after a night’s sleep. You can also add a squeeze of lemon for an extra refreshing boost.
- Mindful morning routine: Take your time with your morning routine. Whether it’s showering, brushing your teeth, or getting dressed, try to be present and mindful, rather than rushing through it.
- Exercise: Incorporate some form of physical activity into your morning routine, even if it’s just a quick workout or a short walk. Exercise releases endorphins, which can boost your mood and energy levels.
- Healthy breakfast: Fuel your body with a nutritious breakfast to kickstart your metabolism. Include a mix of protein, fiber, and healthy fats to keep you satisfied and energized.
- Set intentions: Take a moment to reflect on your goals and priorities for the day. Set positive intentions for what you want to achieve, both personally and professionally.
- Limit screen time: Avoid immediately checking your phone or emails upon waking. Give yourself some time to ease into the day before diving into the digital world.
- Gratitude practice: Take a moment to express gratitude for the things you appreciate in your life. This can help shift your mindset to a more positive and appreciative state.
- Mindfulness or meditation: Spend a few minutes in mindfulness or meditation to center yourself and cultivate a sense of calm before facing the challenges of the day.
- Plan your day: Outline your tasks and priorities for the day ahead. Having a plan can provide a sense of direction and make your day more organized.
